Since 2017, the hospital has actively strengthened Sino-European exchanges, maintaining frequent exchanges with Germany and Italy. In 2017, it signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Thoraxklinik am Universiätsklinikum Heidelberg in Germany. In 2023, it facilitated the signing of a cooperation agreement between Chongqing Medical University and the University of Florence in Italy. Since 2021, the hospital has hosted four sessions of the SINO-Europe (Chongqing) International Respiratory Forum and two advanced training programs for young and middle-aged physicians.

Professor GUO Shuliang, affiliated with the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, has been appointed as a visiting professor at the University of Florence in Italy
